Joe would have walked

Joe's Love Island experience came to an end last week when the public voted him out of the villa.

The islander was coupled up with Lucie at the time but she decided to stay when he left.

In an interview with Capital FM's Roman Kemp, he admitted he would have walked if the shoe was on the other foot.

Love Island 2018 winner Dani Dyer makes an appearance during the interview to ask Joe a question.

She says, "I’m really sorry about your exit, but I’ve got a question for you. If the shoe was on the other foot, would you have walked if Lucie left?"

He replies, "Yeah, like for me I kind of went on there to find love so… I felt I found that..."

Joe goes on, "For me there would have been no reason to stay but again we all apply for experience and she’s just gonna have the best time."

Vick Hope asks whether he thinks Lucie will re-couple with someone else in the villa now that he's gone.

Joe says, "I’ve literally got no idea. Obviously the main goal is to recouple to stay in so if that’s the case… Obviously to stay in, for longevity."

Joe wants Lucie to have the best time

The sandwich maker says he never expected Lucie to leave the villa with him.

"As I say, we did apply for a great experience and the summer of a lifetime and as I said to her, kinda like "just have a great time and I’ll still be there anyway"."

When Joe arrived home, he says he spoke to her family on the phone for the first time.

"Her mum literally just messaged me before I got here today just saying some nice words about the [Love Island:] Aftersun."

"But yeah they’re lovely, they’re literally like the nicest people."

Lucie is open to a new relationship

On last night's episode of the reality series, Lucie revealed she would be open to getting to know someone else.

Anton told her, "What I need to know is, are you open to finding someone else?"

Without hesitation she responded, "Joe is a proper city party boy and I am completely the opposite, but I liked him and he liked me and that is what it was."

She says she's worried that if she leaves the villa, the man of her dreams might just walk in.

"Think if I left here, and that surfer guy walked through the door, I would be absolutely gutted."

Anton chose to couple up with Lucie giving her the chance to find love on the show.

Meanwhile, our girl Yewande was dumped from the villa when Danny chose Arabella over her.
