There have been 54 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Republic

Two more deaths have also been confirmed, with the total number of deaths to date now at 1,1775 (including two previously confirmed deaths now having been denotified).

Of the new cases confirmed today, 19 are in Dublin, 8 in Kildare, 5 in Tipperary and the rest of the cases are in Carlow, Clare, Donegal, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Waterford and Wexford.

27 are said to be linked with outbreaks or close contacts of a confirmed case, while eight cases have been identified as community transmission.
