Irish people are faced with uncertainty due to the changes to Australia's working holiday visa.
The proposed changes would limit the number of second year working holiday visas to 45,000 annually.
While just 5,000 places would be made available for anyone hoping to stay for a third year.
Audrey O’Connor, Founder and Migration Manager of Kelly & O'Connor Migration, said it's going to impact Australian employers:
"A lot of Irish people will go over and they'll do their agricultural regional work and it's so needed.
This is the contradiction I suppose that the [Australian] government is saying look we want to manage migration but then the regional employers are really being affected."
Australia's Minister for Home Affairs, Tony Burke, hopes the plan will meets its Net Overseas Migration target of 225,000 with these new regulations.
Any Irish person looking to stay longer than one year in Australia will still be required to complete their 88 days of regional work in order to enter the lottery.
