A woman is feared dead after a caravan was blown off a cliff in Co. Galway.

The incident happened at Claddaghduff in Clifden, where Gardai are at the scene.

It's understood a woman in her 50s was in the caravan at the time and rescuers are working to access it.

The coast guard from Cleggan has also been responding to the incident, while the Shannon helicopter is on standby.

It comes as Ireland is getting hit by Storm Ali, leading to thousands of homes and businesses without power due to strong winds.
