Dublin city music venues are being swapped out for hotels at what feels like a staggering rate lately.
Hangar, previously Andrew's Lane Theatre, closed its doors last week to make way for a 115-room hotel.
The Tivoli Theatre, aka Disrict 8, will soon be demolished and rebuilt as a 289-bed ‘aparthotel’.
And this week we've learned that Vicar Street will be redeveloped to include a 185-bedroom, 4-star hotel.
However, unlike Hangar and District 8, the music venue will remain.
Here's what is being proposed:
The main stage of Vicar Street will be moved to allow an extra 500 seats and the bars will be upgraded.
There are also plans for a private club on the 8th floor of the hotel that will boast views of the city.
Promoter Peter Aiken has said on the project, "We are delighted to be involved with such an innovative scheme which will bring a new experience to our clients where they can relax after a show and not worry about getting home.
Planning permission for the redevelopment has been granted.
