NUI Galway has dropped between 50 and 150 places to find itself somewhere in 301st and 350th grouping.
UCC is in the same category as Galway, while Maynooth University entered the top 400.
UCD sits in the world's top 250, but DCU is futher back in the 401st and 500th bracket.
Finally, University of Limerick sits 7th out of the Irish universities - they appear in the 501 to 600 group.
