The weekend has landed quickly after a short four day week (for some) and there are plenty of things to get up to around Dublin.

  • The Dublin Comic-Con is starting today and will run until Sunday. The event is in it's sixth year and has got bigger every year. This weekend will have everything from movies/tv shows to comics, cosplay and gaming. You can see a number of famous faces appear such as Dean Cain from Superman, Nick Frost from Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead and Lori Petty from Orange is the New Black to name a few. It will take place in the Convention Centre and tickets start at €11.50 for more information click here.

  • The Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Marathon is on Saturday and Sunday with a selection of different runs to suit everybody. If you like your bit of running and you like to do it with some music in the background then why not run to some live music. Starting and finishing at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham the route will be full of bands and entertainment along the way to give you some more motivation. There is a half marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a family fun 1.5k run & walk. For all the information please click here.

  • Staying with outdoor activities and kind of staying with marathons the Super Milk Wild Air Run is a day out for all the family to get out and about. The event sees 10 of Europe’s biggest inflatable obstacles as part of a 5K course that you have to attempt to run and you are given water guns to make it even more entertaining. For more information please click here.

  • After your run or if running isn't your thing a BBQ in aid of the 3Ts Turn the Tide of Suicide is being held on Sunday. The Food for Thought event is being held at Opium, there will be some leading Chefs, DJs and cocktail makers coming together to highlight mental health & Suicide prevention in their community. They are just some of the many events on around the city tomorrow, there is also the Dublin Horse Show,  Dublin vs Galway, and We've Only Just Begun, plus much much more.
