Festival season is well and truly upon us, some great ones have passed but there is still lots more to come. Some have flown off to the island festival of Sziget in Budapest and others are getting their camping gear ready for Electric Picnic in two weeks time.
Apart from all the major festivals there are plenty more events taking place and there are some great ones in Dublin this weekend.
The Big Grill
Herbert Park
16th - 19th August
If you like your food and even more if you like your BBQ'd food then Europe's largest BBQ festival is starting today. The Big Grill is taking place this weekend until Sunday in Herbert Park. There will be a selection of chefs and pit-masters from Ireland and the UK exhibiting their unique ways of cooking up a storm BBQ style. Organisers are expecting around 20,000 hungry visitors to take to the park. There will brew-tasting, tutorials and lost more to make you hungry. For more information please click here.
The Dublin Tattoo Convention

With tattoos becoming more and more popular over-time the search for quality and styles has also increased. To get all the best knowledge of the area before you get your first or next ink is The Dublin International Tattoo Convention where some of the best in the business are showcasing their work.
Taking place at the Convention Centre there will be over 150 tattooists from around the world, entertainment from live bands, side shows, burlesque, magic, aeriel displays, body painting and a hula hoop workshop. There will also be a 'Tattoo Wars' where two artists will go against the clock to win a trophy. For more information please click here.
Outdoor Movies In The Park
Marlay Park

If you like the cinema but you also like getting out and about then this weekend you can combine both with the Outdoor Movies in the Park. This free event is on Saturday and Sunday in Marlay Park and will be screening some classics as well as some recent hits. With the regular weekend market nearby which will be staying open late everything is there (if the weather stays good). The movies that will be on are Coco, School of Rock, Grease, Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji 2. For more information please click here.
Boots Night Walk For Night Nurses

You can show your support for the Irish Cancer Society Night Nursing service tomorrow night by taking part in the Boots Night Walk For Nurses. The 5k Night walk will take place in Marlay Park at 7 pm until 9 pm. There is also Night Walk Tags for sale in all Boots stores for €2 that will be displayed during the event.
