Pregnant commuters can wear a new 'baby on board' badge from today to let other transport users know they may need a seat.

The National Transport Authority's rolling out the plan across the country, after a trial run with Irish Rail proved popular with expectant mothers.

All public transport services across the country are backing the new scheme.

The free badges are available at most transport outlets and also at transportforireland.ie
