Kissing protest

Members of the LGBTI+ community held a kissing protest outside the Dail today.

They’re urging the Government introduce new laws to deal with hate crime.

The ‘Shift the Hate Away’ protest was organised after a number of attacks on people because of their sexuality in recent weeks.

Last month Marc Power was attacked by a group of at least four people.

It was after he was lured to a location by a fake dating profile.

While in September, six people attacked Danilo Matta after he kissed his boyfriend outside of his flat.

Demonstrators say hate crime legislation to deal with homophobic attacks is vital as campaigns continue to raise awareness of the issue.
