Fashion designer Kate Spade's family have confirmed her father has passed away.
They released a statement confirming the news, stating that he was 89-years-old and had been failing in health.
The statement was released as a funeral began for Kate in Kansas City.
Kate was found dead in her New York City apartment on June 5th.
