We have been made aware that some people have been contacted by someone pretending to work for SPIN1038.
These calls have been made to people at random, mostly to their places of work, stating they have been nominated to take part in a competition on Spin. They always ring from a private number, and to date, tell the person they have been nominated to take part in a competition/promotion arranged by SPIN1038. The person making these calls seems to have additional information on the person they are calling, such as friends names, etc.
Please note – we will only ever contact you directly if you entered a competition on-air (by sending a text/Whatsapp to 0877111038), via a form on our website (spin1038.com), or on our official social media channels.
We will NEVER ask you to meet you in person about a competition, unless it is to collect a prize from our offices (Marconi House, Digges Lane, Dublin 2)
If you receive a phone call, and you are suspicious about it, please call our reception on 016564600 during office hours or email info@spin1038.com for confirmation.
Again, never ever arrange to meet anyone purporting to be a representative from SPIN without prior confirmation from a @spin1038.com email address.
Please also make An Garda Síochána aware if you feel threatened or targeted by such calls, by calling your local Garda station or their confidential line on 1800 666 111
We would also recommend that your make your social media profiles private if you receive one of these calls, and pass on any other relevant information to the Gardai.
