Facebook could get a fine of 1.3 billion euro as an EU investigation opens into a massive data breach.
Last week the social media firm revealed the details of 50 million users were taken as hackers exploited the sites 'View As' feature.
The feature allows users to view their profile as it appears to other users.
There have been further fears that Instagram and other Facebook owned apps could also be in breach of data rights.
A maximum fine of four percent of a company's annual revenue can now be issued.
