A new train station on the Dublin to Maynooth line is to go ahead twenty years after it was first proposed.
Construction at Pelletstown between Ashtown and Broombridge is expected to take up to two years once it gets underway.
Irish Rail's Barry Kenny says it's an area with a growing population:
"This is a new station on the Maynooth commuter line obviously a very busy line and an area where there's going to be significant additional housing."
"It's crucial that we have infrastructure there for new housing so people can travel in a sustainable way."
