Brett Kavanaugh has been appointed to the US Supreme Court following a vote in the Senate.
Mr Kavanaugh has continued to deny allegations of sexual misconduct dating back to when he was a teenager, despiter several women coming forward.
A number of people were arrested as crowds protested against his nomination on Capitol Hill.
President Trump has described the swearing in of his nominee as a 'tremendous victory.'
