Our top 6 tips for working from home
If you're working from home over the next few weeks, these top tips could come in handy.
Many people across Ireland will be facing this predicament following the Taoiseach's recent announcement.
Here's what you should do if you find yourself in this situation:
1. Morning routine
Make sure to create a morning routine so you have a bit of structure.
From having breakfast at the same time daily to making sure you're at your desk on time.
It's important to feel like you're part of a system.
2. Ground rules
Make sure to set ground rules with those around you like family, friends etc.
You'll need your own space so you can work efficiently.
This might mean those around you will have to do things like use headphones when playing music etc.
Make sure you set specific hours for yourself whether it's 9am to 5pm or 7:30am to 3:30pm.
This will make it easier for you to maintain a work-life balance.
It's very easy to forget to take breaks when you're working from home.
However, break's are essential in maintaining positive physical and mental health.
Perhaps take a 15 minute break in the morning and a 45 minute break at midday - do what suits your routine.
Just because you're working from home, doesn't mean you should lose connection with your colleagues.
They may not be visible but they are there so it's important to keep in contact and stay informed.
6. Leave the house
And finally, don't forget to leave the house.
It can be very easy to live your life at home when you also work there.
Make sure to get some fresh air - go for a walk or even a short drive.
Most importantly, stay safe.
