For the 2017  MET Gala, an event attended by the world's celebrity elite where they pay 30,000 Dollars a ticket, all of which goes towards the MET's fashion department as this is the only department that has to fund itself. Poor them. So it's not a charity event, if that's what you thought. Still, it's hottest ticket in town and a chance to dress up super fancy or like a total looper. This year, the theme was a bit looser than what we've seen previously. Guests were encouraged to think 'avant-garde' which is essentially an invitation to dress up in the kind of sh*t that us mere mortals would never wear in a million years. But it's fun. Lots of familiar faces in the mix this year, but let's take a look at the outfits. It's pretty difficult writing a 'best dressed' list for something this wacky, but what we'll do here is give a nod to the most 'interesting' ensembles of the night.

Bella Hadid. In fairness, if I had a bum like that I'd probably give that a whirl too.

Rihanna obviously went all out. We're not even sure how to describe this.

Cara Delevingne. Probably the only person on the planet who could still look deadly with their scalp covered in white paint and diamante things.

Nicki Minaj. Rapunzel!

Hailey Baldwin looks like a futuristic bride and it works.

Kendall Jenner. We need to know what tape she's using.

Puff Daddy (or P Diddy Money or whatever the f*** he's calling himself these days). Kudos for putting in some effort.

Selena Gomez and The Weekend - the coolest couple of the moment.

Lena Dunham - SLAY, gurl.

Kylie Jenner looks like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations but she took the theme and went all the way so fair play.

Lily Collins, we hope that's not a permanent haircut but again, the bravery makes it interesting.

Zoe Kravitz looked deadly.

Last but by no means least, Katy Perry. We have no words.

Play it safers include Lily Rose Depp who wows in pink, Miranda Kerr who opted for a floral number and Karlie Kloss, we still love this simple tux dress. Felicity Jones stuck to what she knows but it worked well for her. Blake Lively ALWAYS wears gold but if it aint broke don't fix it, right? But at least she goes a bit left of field with the flash of blue feathers on the end.

Kim Kardashian was very conservative but she's not in the business of drawing a lot of attention to herself these days, and we respect her for that after what she's been through. Anyway, she still looks gorgeous.

Not to be a hater but we won't be handing out any awards to Gwyneth Paltrow or JLo for these uninspiring numbers.

'Til next year.
