Emma Stone stole our hearts with her performance in La La Land - for which she scooped the Best Actress Oscar gong. Nailing every red carpet she ever walks, at last night's Academy Awards she looked more radiant than ever. With no interest in tan - why would she cover that beautiful porcelain skin - Emma Stone personifies the classic Hollywood aesthetic of soft waves, subtly smouldering eyes, and a strong, defined lip. There's no harsh contouring, no obvious blusher. To recreate this look, think lashes and lips, allowing your skin to remain relatively untouched (aside from the obvious foundation and powder).

How to nail this look?

We're not gonna lie; as far as the hair is concerned, you're best off leaving it to the professionals. Anna O'Hanlon in Hessions (Drumcondra) is famous for mastering the Hollywood wave so if you've got an event coming up, save yourself the curling iron injuries and book yourself in.

Prep your skin with MAC Strobe cream - in gold - for that elusive glow. Foundation wise, keep it light (Charlotte Tilbury's Light Wonder Foundation is the dream); avoid the temptation to wear something that's darker than your natural skin tone. You can always add warmth with a light veil of bronzer, but if you wear foundation that's too dark, it will look as though your skin has aged.

Then decide whether you're going to go for a powder finish or a more dewy effect. If you prefer the latter, go back in with the strobe cream, concentrating on the high points of the face but be careful not to wipe away the foundation underneath. Use your ring finger and stipple it on; don't rub.

Emma clearly opted for powder - the lights and cameras at the Oscars would require it. Make Up For Ever do a fantastic translucent powder to set your foundation. Bronze your face ever so slightly as Emma has done, avoiding any harsh lines or obvious definition.

Charlotte Tilbury's eyeshadow quad in 'The Dolce Vita' would work perfectly for this look. Keep it simple, though, allowing your lips to remain the main focus. Now's as good a time as any to master your Hollywood liquid liner - a great tip is to use a little bit of tape as a guide for the flick.

Lips wise, you want something that's in between a red and a berry hue. For this Charlotte Tilbury's Salma Hayek lipstick is the closest you're going to get.
