Joanna Lumley took over from Stephen Fry as the host of the 71st BAFTAs in London last night.

During her opening speech she marked the 100th anniversary of the suffragette movement, the Time's Up campaign and "all the talented, creative and inspirational individuals who have enriched our lives through their stellar work".

She went on to highlight some of the famous faces in the room.

Frances McDormand

"In Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri she delivers a performance nothing short of a masterclass"

Daniel Kaluuya

"The star of the jaw dropping Get Out is here."

Daniel Day Lewis

"Daniel actually learned to sew to haute couture standard. I know what you're thinking and you're right. Yes, he did make my dress this evening.

Angelina Jolie

"The hardest working woman in Hollywood, and many of them obviously are working, is the glorious and spectacular Angelina Jolie"

Hugh Grant

"Quite how Hugh managed to portray a vein and egocentric actor is honestly beyond me. Don't know how you did it darling, it was remarkable stuff.
