Three programmes to get stuck into this week!

1) Serial Killer with Piers Morgan, TV3 - Thursday at 9pm

If you are in to your true crime shows, this one is for you. Piers Morgan has filmed several episodes of his new show 'Serial Killer'- the first was released in November. In this episode Piers sits down with Lorenzo Gilyard who was convicted of murdering six people in and around Missouri between 1977 and 1993 and was suspected of murdering seven more. He was known as the 'Kansas City Strangler' and despite overwhelming he claims he's innocent to this day.

2) The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, BBC 2 - 9pm

A follow up the incredibly successful 'The People Vs OJ Simpson' - this series looks at the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace. He was shot dead on the steps of his Miami mansion in 1997 by 27 year old Andrew Cunanan. He claimed to be a close friend of Versaces- but it transpired he was a serial liar and a serial killer. It stars Darren Criss as Cunanan, with Ricky Martin as Versace’s boyfriend and Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace. Now there's no trial in this one as Cunanan took his own life a few days after the murder, but the series focuses on the police investigation that followed Versace’s killing and traces Cunanan’s murder spree across America.

3) The Restaurant, TV3 - Thursday at 9pm

Celebrities, cooking and critics- what more do you need? The brand new series of The Restaurant kicked off last week and saw Rachel Allen join Marco Pierre White on the critics table. Donnacha O'Callaghan was the first mystery celebrity guest of the series- this week sees the turn of weather and National Lottery presenter Nuala Carey. She's making a 'Millionaire's Shortbread' as one of her desserts. Well played Nuala.
