Selena Gomez Has Broken An Instagram Record

Selena Gomez has just smashed a major social media record. 

She's currently the queen of Instagram, with an impressive 139 million followers, and has held that title since 2016. 

In addition to being the most followed person on the site, she also now holds the title having the most-liked Instagram upload in the shortest time period. 

Selena's taken the title from Beyoncé. Up until now, she's held that title, along with having the top two most liked pictures. 

The second being her pregnancy announcement, when she confirmed that she was expecting twins Rumi and Sir with Jay Z (6.4 million likes) in its first 12 hours. The first being when she unveiled Rumi and Sir to the world (7.8 million) in its first 12 hours.

Now, Selena holds the title as she shared pictures from her 26th birthday. She celebrated over the weekend, and shared a picture of her smiling and accompanied it with a heart-felt message (8.2 million) in its first few hours.
