Justin Bieber gets emotional talking about Billie Eilish
Justin Bieber breaks down crying during a chat about fellow pop star Billie Eilish.
He admits during an interview with Zane Lowe that he feels very protective of the 18-year-old.
The Bad Guy singer has looked up to Justin ever since she was a child.
Justin and Billie met in person for the very first time at Coachella last year.
It was a massive moment for Billie - she was absolutely star struck by the Baby singer.
Justin tells Zane, "I wanted to protect the moment."
He goes on, "We never know how many opportunities we’re gonna get with anybody."
Justin gets emotional, "I’m tearing up just thinking about it, just with the Kobe [Bryant] situation."
The singer adds, "You just never know."
Growing up in the limelight
Justin and Billie share a similar experience as they've both grown up in the limelight.
He says, "I just wanted to be a good example… I definitely feel protective of her."
"It was hard for me, you know, being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn."
Justin explains, "And everyone, you know, telling me they loved me and, you know, just turning their back on you in a second."
"So yeah it’s hard because I want her to know that she can count on me."
He goes on, "But at the end of the day I’m never going to force myself to be in a relationship with her, it has to be natural."
Justin insists he'll always be there for her, "If she ever needs me I’m gonna be here for her."
"But yeah, just protecting those moments because people take for granted encounters."
"So, I just want to protect her, you know?"
Justin fears Billie will go through the hardships he went through as a teenager in the limelight.
He says, "I don’t want her to lose it, I don’t want her to go through anything I went through."
"I don’t wish that upon anybody. So, if she ever needs me, I’m just a call away."
Billie responds
Billie shared Justin's interview with Zane on her Instagram account.
She also posted photos of her childhood bedroom covered in Justin Bieber posters.
The artist captioned the post, 'stream changes.'
Justin commented, 'Love you !!!'
While his wife Hailey simply left a love heart emoji in the comments section.
And Jameela Jamil wrote, 'Purest content on the internet.'
