Fergie performed the US national anthem at the NBA All-Star game at the weekend, and it didn't strike the right note with fans.
She attempted to shake things up and perform a slightly different version that people are used to, and it gained a lot of backlash from fans on social media.
Fergie has since apologised saying that she was attempting something new, and it didn't come out as planned.
Speaking to TMZ, the former Black Eyed Peas star said 'I've always been honoured and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA.'
She added 'I'm a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn't strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.'
