Demi Lovato sat down with Ellen DeGeneres yesterday, and discussed social media and more importantly, how to deal with online hate.

In the past few weeks, fans have noticed that she's posting more and more images of her in swimsuits.

Demi revealed Ellen, 'I've been working on myself for the past year, more so than I've ever worked on myself. I've really surrendered to the process of just learning to love yourself, and I feel like it shows through my pictures.'

She also talked about the importance of self-love, and how she wants her fans to realise that they can have the same level of self-love too.

'I post more bathing suit pictures online. I want to show my fans that it's possible that they can get to that self-love too.'

Of course, with over 64 million followers on the platform, Demi isn't invincible from receiving negative comments and has to deal with online trolls.

She has said that the 'haters' don't effect her because she has learned to deal with them.

'I've taken away the power from the negative comments and the haters by not listening to them and if I do see it, I just feel sorry for them, because who leaves a negative comment on somebody's profile on the internet? You have to be kind of sad to do that. I've taken away the power, and it just feels great.'
