It's pretty clear that Sex and the City 3 isn't happening (certainly not anytime soon anyway) so Cynthia Nixon isn't wasting any time.
The actress who played Miranda Hobbes in the hit HBO show has announced that she is running for New York state governor.
The New York city born actress and filmmaker has said that she will run for the position in autumn against Andrew Cuomo.
Cynthia will face Andrew in a primary election at the ballot box in September and the winning candidate will then go on to face a republican challenger in November.
