If you were under the illusion that Arctic Monkeys were going to drop a surprise single before May 11th, you were wrong. It's been confirmed that they have no such plans.
Their sixth studio album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino will be released in just over two weeks and a rep has confirmed fans will have to wait until then to hear any new material.
Frontman Alex Turner said that this decision was backed by Jamie Cook. Speaking to Mojo, Alex said 'Jamie was really keen on that idea, and I guess people at Domino. But it didn't come from me. I understand it, I think.'
