The funerals of two teenage girls killed in a crash have taken place.

16-year-old Dlava Mohammed's service took place at Clonskeagh Mosque.

Meanwhile, hundreds lined the streets of Clones in Monaghan for the funeral of Kiea McCann.

The two girls died on the way to a debs on Monday evening.

Clonskeagh

Shortly after ten o'clock this morning, the cortege drove into the entrance of the mosque.

It was followed by her family and the bus carrying locals wishing to pay their respects.

The young woman, who was entering TY at Largy College in Clones, had moved to Ireland a number of years ago.

Her school, in a statement last night, said she had just completed her junior cert, and was a kind teenager, who was popular among her friends.

After the funeral service, her coffin was taken by hearse to Newcastle Muslim Cemetery.

Clones

Meanwhile, 17 year old Kiea McCann was remembered as a girl with a "caring nature" in Clones.

Her funeral heard she had a great sense of humour, and loved music and pool.

Kiea had hoped to study Childcare in Cavan next year.

Gifts were brought to the altar to represent Kiea's life.

They included a Mickey Mouse and a hair straightener.
