It's about to get very, very cold and snow is potentially on the way! Met Eireann has issued two weather warnings for the rest of the week as the wintry season starts to take hold in Ireland.

The forecaster has issued a status yellow weather advisory for the entire country, and warns that from today, some showers will turn wintery with sleet or snow expected.

The heaviest of the snow fall is most likely over Ulster, Connacht, north Leinster and west Munster.

The warning comes into effect this evening until Saturday afternoon.
