A Meath man critically injured before last night's Champions League match in Liverpool has been named as Sean Cox from Dunboyne.
The 53 year old was hit by a belt before the Liverpool and Roma semi-final.
The victim is involved in St. Peters GAA club and is currently the club Treasurer.
Two Italian men in their 20s have been arrested and are being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.
