HSE Tracking Down People In Contact With First Irish Coronavirus Case

The patient tested positive for Coronavirus on Saturday

The Health Service Executive (HSE) says it is "working rapidly" to find any contacts a man who contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus might have had.

He had recently returned from northern Italy.

This is the first confirmed case of the coronavirus in southern Ireland.

On Friday, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said the risk of spread and impact of the virus was "very high at a global level".

It is the second case of Coronavirus on the island as a woman recovers at home in Belfast.
