HBO has released a teaser trailer for True Detective season three.
The Oscar winning actor Mahershala Ali will star and creator Nic Pizzolatto has returned to write the series.
The story will be set in the Ozark mountains and, in true True Detective style, will span over three time periods.
Ali will play Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas. Not much else is known about the plot other than it will centre around two missing children.
The series is set for release in January 2019, five years after season one and four years after season two.
While viewers were disappointed with season two's complicated plot, the time gap between this season and the last is promising!
