Love Island's Anna saved her friend from homelessness

2019 Love Island contestant Anna Vakili saved her friend from homelessness when he came out as gay.

Naman Parvaiz says his relationship with his family fell apart when he came out.

If it wasn't for Anna taking him in, he says he would have ended up on the streets.

In an interview with The Mirror, Naman praises the islander for all her help.

According to the publication, Naman's family tried to, 'persuade him to marry a girl in Pakistan.'

So Anna and her family took him in and gave him a home.

He says Anna really had his back, 'She asked me to come and live with her family for a while.'

'I lived there a few months and it was fantastic. They told me I needed to sort my life out but that I could stay as long as I needed.'

Naman goes on to reveal that Anna and her sister Mandi also helped him find a job.

'Anna and Mandi started looking for a job with me. They’re very close to their mum and dad, who are lovely.'

'Mind you it is funny as they are quite strict too.'

Their first encounter

Naman recalls the moment he first met Anna and her sister in a nightclub in London.

'I remember seeing these two exotic girls... I was like ‘Oh my God I want to be friends with you. You two are glamorous.'

'We added each other on Facebook and that was it.'

He says that at the time, he wasn't comfortable in his own skin.

So, the sisters held a convention, 'They said, ‘Look, you should be proud of who you are.''

''You are gay and you’re Muslim, that’s a beautiful thing. You should be able to tell your story to people and stand up for your rights.''

They inspired him to be himself and to love himself.

Naman defends Anna's Love Island antics

Anna received a lot of backlash on social media after her fight with Michael on Love Island.

Naman defends his friend, 'A lot of viewers who criticised her have clearly not had loyal friends to stick up for them.'

Anna pulled Michael aside for a chat after he chose to re-couple with new girl Joanna instead of Anna's villa friend Amber.

Naman says, 'All Anna is doing is sticking up for Amber. Michael made out he was in it for the long haul with Amber.'

He thinks Anna is in with a chance of winning the show, 'I really think she could. But she’s a winner to me, no matter what happens.'
