The Dublin Tattoo Convention is bringing live tattooing, live Pyrotechnic shows , an alternative market, and a celebration of self-expression to the RDS, 6–8 November.
Over 2,000 people are expected to get tattooed at The Dublin Tattoo Convention next weekend, as over 250 tattoo artists gather at the RDS Main Hall for three days of art, entertainment and tattoo culture. See more here.

Visitors can get tattooed, watch tattoos take shape, explore artists’ portfolios and meet the people behind the designs. For some, the weekend will mark their first tattoo. For others, it will be an opportunity to add a new piece to a collection or commemorate something special.
Irish research offers an insight into the meaning behind the ink. A nationally representative iReach Insights survey of 1,000 adults, published in 2017, found:
- One in five adults in Ireland had at least one tattoo.
- 43% of tattooed respondents got a tattoo in memory of someone or something.
- 28% of tattooed respondents wanted to express creativity.
- 57% of adults considered tattoos an art form.
