Mother and Absolut return to The George on Saturday 3 October, 3pm–8pm with Daytime Dance Party: The Doll Edition;  an afternoon of drag, DJs and queer joy built around one promise: Absolut covers the costs of the party, so every cent of ticket revenue goes straight to Irish trans charity TENI.

They fund the party. You fund the work.

The Doll Edition is about visibility. The dolls have always shaped, elevated and redefined queer culture and far too often done it while being erased everywhere else. This party will raise a glass to trans, intersex and non-binary siblings with a gorgeous queer mix of talent on the decks and on the stage.

For everyone else, the cis and non-trans letters of the alphabet; this is the easy part. Showing up is not a gesture. It's a room full of people, a dancefloor, and a day party that pays for itself and then some. Allyship has never looked this fun.

Senior Brand Manager of Absolut,Grace O'Sullivan said of the announcement:

"Absolut has stood with the LGBTQ+ community for over forty years, and the work we're proudest of is the kind that gives people a room and a platform for creativity. Daytime Dance Party has become exactly that in collaboration with Mother. Covering the costs so that every ticket goes to TENI was an easy decision; it means the party funds the people doing the work all year round."

Cormac Cashman, co-promoter of Mother added:

"Seven Daytime Dance Parties with Absolut, three of them at The George, we love a little daytime collaboration. This is the first one raising funds, and we're proud it's for TENI. Absolut make it possible, The George gives it a home with decades of queer history in the walls, and now every ticket goes towards the community it came from."

In Summation, Dargh Flynn from The George:

“The George and Mother have always shared a belief in the importance of creating spaces where people can come together, be themselves and feel like they belong. This collaboration is about taking that a step further and using the energy of queer nightlife in Dublin to support an organisation doing vital work for the trans community.

TENI plays such an important role in advocating for transgender people and their loved ones across Ireland, and we’re really proud to be able to contribute to that work. For us, this is about community, solidarity and celebrating queer culture while giving something meaningful back to the people who make our community what it is.”

Queer joy as protest. Dancing as resistance. Everyone here is a work of art, and this is our gallery.

All dolls, all darlings, all allies: welcome.
