South Dublin gastropub, Brickyard, have announced its upcoming ‘Cinco de Mayo’ Brunch event, taking place on May 4th and 5th.
Not familiar with Cinco de Mayo? Let us explain:
Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration of Mexican culture and heritage and is celebrated specifically on May 5th worldwide. The date May 5th (known as Cinco de Mayo in Mexico), celebrates Mexico’s victory over the French Empire in the Battle of Puebla in 1862, and today there is essentially a big annual bash to celebrate.
Co-owner Erwin Pollard shares his enthusiasm, stating, "We love Mexican food here at Brickyard, and have always had at least one Mexican dish on our menu since the day we opened. It's exciting food, always full of flavour."
Highlighting the menu is Brickyard's signature beef barbacoa tacos, made by braising beef brisket and chuck overnight in a blend of dried Mexican chilies, herbs, and spices, served with homemade salsa Roja on Blanco Nino tortillas. For those seeking a fusion of European flair and Mexican tradition, “The Fresh crab tostadas with avocado purée and Granny Smith apple offer a delectable twist.” Sys co owner Simon Moore
So if you needed an excuse to indulge in tacos, tortillas, fajitas and quesadillas with a spicy marg to match, Brickyard is the place to be this Bank Holiday weekend.
