Bord Gáis Energy Theatre have announced a dynamic team of creatives who will herald a new dawn on the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic musical OKLAHOMA! this summer season. This new production will run for three weeks from 19 June- 05 July 2026.
Following the acclaimed success of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre’s inaugural full in-house production of Little Shop of Horrors, Stephen Faloon will once again take the reins as Producer of this reinvigorated new production, continuing the venues commitment to not just welcoming but also producing world class musical theatre productions in Ireland.

The theatre has had 2.5 million visitors viewing 250 productions since 2010. They also today , announced details of 5 new shows including Mary Poppins for Christmas 2015 for which tickets will go on sale this Friday morning at 9am.

Today, Wednesday the 18th of March we celebrate a very special birthday. It is the official fifth anniversary of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, situated in the heart of Dublins Grand Canal Dock and what a fantastic five years it has been! Over the course of the last five years the theatre has enjoyed enormous successand has firmly established itself as Irelands best loved theatre. So its time to party!
To mark the occasion we are thrilled to announce five brand new shows for our already jam packed 2015 season. First up from the producers of Hairspray, Jersey Boys and West Side Story LOVE ME TENDER a hilarious feel-good musical featuring Elvis Presleys greatest hits will play from 21st -26th September, followed by the critically acclaimed musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS from 28th September - 3rd October, based on the legendary 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin. In November the astounding Matthew Bourne returns with his production of SLEEPING BEAUTY. Matthew Bournes haunting new scenario is a gothic tale for all ages; the traditional tale of good vs. evil and rebirth is turned upside-down, creating a supernatural love story that even the passage of time itself cannot hinder. Direction of OKLAHOMA! will be led by Claire Tighe, the Artistic Director of TheatreWorx, whose dynamic approach promises a fresh perspective to this iconic musical. The highly regarded David Hayes is confirmed as Musical Director.
The creative team is further enriched by the addition of world-renowned Choreographer David Bolger, co-founder and Artistic Director of CoisCéim Dance Theatre. Celebrated for work seen by millions across the globe and honoured with numerous prestigious awards, David brings an artistic voice and imagination to the production, breathing vibrant new life into this joyful show.
Also joining the team of highly talented creatives for this summer’s in house production will be Ciarán Bagnall as Set Designer, Therese McKeone as Costume Designer, Kevin Smith as Lighting Designer and Jason Fallon as Sound Designer.

Stephen Faloon- Producer
As General Manager of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre Stephen Faloon is responsible for delivering major touring productions such as Hamilton, Wicked, Matilda, and Disney’s The Lion King to Ireland for the first time and since 2010 he and his team at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre have established and continue to grow the theatre as world class entertainment venue. Stephen has spearheaded Bord Gáis Energy Theatre’s in house producing ambitions and his credits as a Producer include West Side Story: A Staged Concert in 2021 and the theatre’s first ever full in-house production Little Shop of Horrors in 2025.
Claire Tighe – Director
Claire is CEO of TheatreworX Productions, which produces professional family friendly theatre and a Stage school & Academy in Leixlip, Kilcock, Dunboyne & Glasnevin.
Claire has been a part of the last two Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in- house productions: West Side Story: A Staged Concert (stage/movement director) in 2021 and Little Shop of Horrors (co-producer, director and choreographer) in 2025. Claire is also best known for her successful work with The Helix Panto since 2008, where she has produced, co-written, directed and choreographed many shows, with most recent credits including The Snow Queen in 2025, Rapunzel in 2024, Treasure Island in 2023 and Hansel and Gretel in 2022.
Claire’s director/ choreographer credits within Irelands thriving AIMS circuit, most especially for Leixlip Musical & Variety Group have won many awards for their productions including: Grease (Nominated Best Choreographer & Best Director, 2015), Rock of Ages (Winner Best Choreographer, 2016) Legally Blonde (Winner Best Choreographer & Best Overall Show, 2017) , West Side Story (Winner Best Director & Best Overall Show, 2018), The Addams Family (Nominated Best Director), The Producers (Winner Best Choreographer 2025), Our House (Winner Best Choreographer 2025).
David Hayes -Musical Director
David is a multi-award-winning MD in theatre/musical theatre and has additionally orchestrated nine original musical productions. He has worked extensively in TV and studio and spent three years as Musical Director, Production Director & Producer for Riverdance – The Show.
He has amassed 48 years as a Musical Director, Supervisor, Producer, Orchestrator, Rhythm Section player and Educator and is recognized as one of Ireland’s foremost MD’s whose skills, particularly his specialisation in song interpretation, are in demand and held in high esteem.
As well as acting as Musical Director on Bord Gáis Energy theatre previous in- house productions; West Side Story: A Staged Concert 2021 and Little Shop of Horrors in 2025. David’s numerous credits as Musical Director most recently include Young Frankenstein (National Opera House, Wexford for WLOS) in 2025 for which he was awarded Best Musical Director 2025. My Fair Lady (NCH) 2025. Abba Orchestral (3 Arena, Dublin) in 2024 and 2025. Phantom of The Opera (National Opera House, Wexford for WLOS) 2024 for which he was awarded Best Musical Director 2024.
Orchestration credits include Angela’s Ashes (Irish and UK Tour 2021/2022) and Ibiza Orchestral and Queen Orchestral (3 Arena, Dublin) in 2024.
David is currently touring the far east with Leading Voices of Musical Theatre Tour of China alongside a star cast of performers which include Ben Forster, Bradley Jaden, Killian Donnelly, Willemijn Verkaik, Nathania Ong, Ruthie Henshall and Anna O’Byrne throughout March 2026.
David Bolger -Choreographer
David is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of CoisCéim Dance Theatre.
Over the past 30 years, David has directed and choreographed many original productions for the Company, many of which have toured both nationally and internationally – garnering international recognition and receiving prestigious awards for their innovation, performance and choreography
CoisCéim have performed throughout Ireland, UK, Scotland, France, Germany, USA, China and Tasmania and at The Venice Biennale. The Company was awarded two coveted Fringe Firsts at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for two consecutive years running (2006/2007) and an Argus Angel award in 2012.
In 2003, CoisCéim Dance Theatre was commissioned to create a large-scale performance A Dash of Colour involving 75,000 people for the opening ceremony of The Special Olympics, which was televised worldwide.
David has worked on productions for Cameron Mackintosh (Martin Guerre), Druid Theatre Company, (Synge Cycle and The Silver Tassie) National Theatre London and The Abbey Theatre Dublin (Tarry Flynn, The Colleen Baw, and world premiere of James Joyce’s The Dead).
In 2013 he was Musical Stager and Choreographer for Heartbeat of Home (International Tours, The London Palladium & The Piccadilly Theatre, London). He was also Musical Stager for the RTÉ 1916 Centenary Concert live from Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
Ciarán Bagnall – Set Designer
Ciarán is a Belfast-based Lighting and Set Designer and Creative Director of Prime Cut Productions. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and was made a Fellow of the College in 2017. In 2022, he served as Assistant Artistic Director for the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. His work has represented Irish theatre design at the Prague Quadrennial in 2019, with a further invitation to exhibit in 2023. Working extensively across the UK and Ireland, Ciarán is an Irish Times Theatre Award winner and is widely recognised for his bold, atmospheric and imaginative stage work.
Therese McKeone – Costume Designer
Thérèse McKeone is an award-winning Dublin based designer who has worked extensively in Theatre, Television, Fashion and the corporate sector.
Previous costume design work includes; Octopus Children THISISPOPBABY, RTÉ Television Dancing with the Stars seasons six and seven. Stumped & Down and out in Paris with Sinead Cuthbert; The Nose - Performance Corporation which was nominated for Best Costume Design at The Irish Times Theatre Awards, Lizzie Lavelle and the Vanishing Elmclough- Performance Corporation, Macbecks – Longford Productions, Sky Road - Theatre Royal Waterford, Celtic Man- Celtic Collections/PBR and Deputy Costume Designer for The 2006 Ryder Cup.
Thérèse has also worked with Ballet Ireland, Irish National Opera, CoisCéim, Breadline, Complex Productions, Lovano, Landmark, Ouroborus, Rex Levitates, Lane Productions and Opera Machine.
Kevin Smith – Lighting Designer
Kevin trained at The Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College Dublin. His previous work includes, for The Gaiety: Beauty & The Beast, Peter Pan, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Snow Queen, Driving Miss Daisy (in Association with Deeramber). Moll (in Association with Verdant) Madama Butterfly (Opera Ireland). His other recent theatre design credits include Class (Inis & Abbey Theatre). Monsters Dinosaurs & Ghosts (Abbey Theatre, Peacock Stage), Rathmines Road (Fishamble/Abbey), In Two Minds, Outrage, Spinning (Fishamble), The Odd Couple (Everyman Theatre), Sandpaper On Sunburn (Verdant), Proms (Cork Opera House).
Jason Fallon- Sound Designer
Jason Fallon is an award-winning Irish Sound Designer specialising in musical theatre. With over 20 years’ experience, he is recognised as one of Ireland’s leading sound designers, working across theatre, television, concerts, corporate events and cultural productions. In 2017, he co-founded One Louder Sound Ltd. with Jody Trehy, delivering specialist audio services to Irish and international markets. His theatre credits include Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story – A Staged Concert and Angela’s Ashes, at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Evita - in Concert, Fun Home, WAKE, RIOT and The Helix Panto are other career highlights. Jason is thrilled to be returning to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for this exciting new production of OKLAHOMA!
