Dublin’s Alex Butler completed a clean sweep of the weekend at Mondello Park, following up his Red Bull Drift Pursuit victory on Saturday with another podium-topping performance on Sunday.
The 16-year-old rising star capped off an impressive weekend by defeating Red Bull Drift Masters competitor George Christoforou of Cyprus in Sunday’s final showdown, while Derry’s Dylan Wilson once again secured a podium finish, this time in third place.

Dubliner Alex Butler completed a sensational clean sweep at Red Bull Drift Pursuit at Mondello Park this weekend, securing victories across both days of tyre-smoking action.
The rising Irish drift star defeated Red Bull Drift Masters competitor George Christofourou of Cyprus in Sunday’s final showdown, having already topped Saturday’s podium to secure a coveted wildcard entry into Drift Masters qualifying.

Butler first emerged as one of the standout performers of the weekend on Saturday, topping the Red Bull Drift Pursuit podium for the first time following a dramatic afternoon of high-intensity drifting action. Wilson finished second, while Waterford’s Jakub Krzysczak claimed third place and Antrim’s Callum Coogan secured fourth.
All four drivers earned coveted wildcard entries into Red Bull Drift Masters qualifying and the opportunity to compete against some of the biggest names in global drifting.

Held as part of the Red Bull Drift Masters weekend, Drift Pursuit returned for its third year with 16 drivers going wheel-to-wheel in 1v1 drifting battles, where they were judged on time, penalties and clipping points.
The competition aims to help identify and develop the country’s next generation of drifting talent, with this year marking the first time drivers could earn direct progression into Red Bull Drift Masters qualifying.
Also across the weekend, large crowds at Mondello Park were treated to showcase runs featuring Red Bull Ampol Racing’s 600+ horsepower Ford Mustang Supercar alongside the iconic Red Bull Drift Mini driven by reigning Drift Masters Champion and Red Bull Athlete Conor Shanahan.
Widely regarded as the pinnacle of professional drifting, Drift Masters brings together the world’s top drivers to compete across Europe’s most challenging venues. The series features celebrated Irish talents including Conor Shanahan, Jack Shanahan and James Deane alongside leading international competitors including Piotr Więcek.
