Love Is Blind was filmed back in September 2018 however, it didn't premiere on Netflix until this year.

So while all the couples on the show seem brand new to us, their romance actually began over a year and a half ago.

The contestants had to keep their relationships a secret until season one aired this year.

Is love truly blind?

The shows asks the question, 'Is love truly blind?'

With no distractions from the outside world, the singletons get to know each other between two walls.

When a meaningful connection is made, they propose before ever laying eyes on each other.

Keeping their marriage a secret

Like many couples, Lauren and Cameron have had their ups and downs but they inevitably made it to the alter.

She admits it's been so hard keeping their marriage a secret.

'For Christmas, I visited [Cameron’s family in] Maine, and it’s like I can’t even really post pictures of my family because we still have to keep it a secret.'

She goes on, 'Same with the family dinners that we have with my dad.'

'So many great moments that we’ve just shared in the past year and a half that we haven’t been able to share with the world.'

Cameron points out that their relationship has changed a lot in the last year and a half.

It seems viewers have some catching up to do, 'I mean, we’re obviously fundamentally the same people in the core.'

'But I think we’ve evolved with each other and in some ways mirrored each other, picked up each other’s mannerisms or elements of our personalities.'

The online reaction

Lauren tells People that the majority of people online are very supportive of their marriage.

'Honestly, it’s been probably 95 percent love and support — almost threatening, like, “You all better still be married!”'

'But it’s heartwarming because I’ve actually received messages from people just being like, “I almost gave up on life and just seeing you two has inspired me that the world still has love,” and stuff like that.'

Cameron adds, 'A lot of couples have been reaching out to both of us and just saying, “We can really relate to you all, and we just love seeing you guys together and are rooting for you.”'

'So it’s been overwhelmingly positive in that regard.'

However, it's not all been rosy - Lauren admits she's had plenty of people accuse them of acting.

'A few people feel like we’re way too perfect, and they think that we’re actors. But it’s like first of all, we’re not perfect.'

She adds, 'But we don’t really pay attention to that 0.5 percent of people.'
