John Krasinski Branded 'Sell-Out' After He Sells Some Good News To CBS

John Krasinski faces backlash

John Krasinski has been branded a, 'sell-out,' after he sold his YouTube series Some Good News to ViacomCBS.

The actor faced backlash after he announced the news on Instagram over the weekend.

The A Quiet Place director started the series with the intention of lifting spirits amid the pandemic.

During his time hosting the show, he's highlighted some incredible stories and even officiated a wedding.

Krasinski also surprised fans by introducing them to their favourite stars.

The big move to CBS

It was announced over the weekend that Krasinski had sold the series to ViacomCBS.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, he'll no longer host the show but instead, will act as an executive producer.

A new host is expected to be announced at a later date.

Krasinski said he's very, 'excited and proud to be partnering with CBS/Viacom.'

As quoted by THR, he added, 'From the first episode, our goal was to create a news show dedicated entirely to good news.'

'Never did I expect to be joining the ranks of such a historic news organisation as CBS.'

Backlash

Krasinski has been facing serious backlash from online fans, accusing him of, 'selling out.'

Upset SGN viewers have flooded the comments section of his announcement post on Instagram.

One fan wrote, 'it's a shame that this lovely feel good show during the pandemic has been turned for a corporate profit.'

Another social media user wrote, 'Way to sellout to the highest bidder, John!'

While another said, 'John's not gonna be the host anymore. I'm sorry but he totally sold out.'

'It beats the purpose of what the show was supposed to be if it's highly produced, no john, and is on a huge network'

John hasn't yet responded to the backlash.
