Mental Health Day

Ireland has less than half of the mental health rehabilitation teams it needs, with none in Donegal, Wicklow or North Tipperary.

While teenagers say their mental health is the biggest issue they face.

Firstly, 13 years ago the Government laid out their mental health policy.

One of the recommendations was to set up 48 mental health rehabilitation teams around the country.

But today, on World Mental Health Day, only 23 are in place - with none Donegal, Wicklow or North Tipperary.

Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry also teamed up to promote positive conversation on the issue.

Half of the population doesn't have access to a mental health rehabilitation team.

According to UNICEF 97% of young people say mental health is the biggest concern among their peer group.

The survey also revealed that following education and employment, 23% were stressed about climate change, while 2% cited Brexit as a concern.
