WATCH: Military Training Exercise In Dublin's Docklands Last Night

The army ran a military exercise in Poolbeg in the Dublin Docklands last night.

"Viking Landing II" was to test junior leaders in a Military Operations in Urban Terrain situation, it says.

The operation included boats, pyrotechnics and low flying helicopters.

It also tested inter-unit co operation with the Air Corps and Navy also involved.

Students Also Tested In Meath And Kildare

The troops in the video are from all across the country.

However, they're based mainly in Dublin, Athlone, Dundalk, Donegal and Kildare.

These students were also tested in exercises at Gormanston, Co. Meath.

Then moving to the Curragh Camp and finally to Poolbeg in Dublin.

This is part of a six month course that the 2 Brigade Training Centre runs.

That can qualify Private soldiers for a promotion to Corporal.
