The number of people killed on Irish roads since records began is the equivalent of losing the population of Kilkenny City.

The 24,255 people who have lost their lives are being remembered as part of 'World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims'.

The Transport Minister says it's a chance to review our own behaviour on the roads and make changes to our driver behaviour.

Events are taking place across the country to mark the day.
