Don't let the beautiful scenery fool you, we could be in for the worst winter storm Ireland has seen in over 35 years!

Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius are expected to hit the country this week.

The Government's Emergency Co-ordination Group for Severe Weather will meet today to discuss the so called 'beast from the east'.

Many have stepped up to make sure some of our society's most vulnerable people are helped, but Inner City Helping Homeless are appealing for further help:

The Housing Minister says homeless people will be prioritised during the expected extreme weather.

There will be extra beds and rough sleeper teams checking on the most vulnerable, according to Minister Eoghan Murphy.
