It appears the worst of Storm Emma has passed.
An update from the National Emergency Coordination Group says that, while a red weather warning is still in place for Leinster, Munster and Galway, the blizzard conditions have now passed.
The statement says that the advice to stay indoors has now been withdrawn, but people should still exercise plenty of caution.
There are variations in storm impact across the country and people need to take account of circumstances locally before deciding to venture outdoors or undertake journeys.
