Oh. Great.

Although today (Monday) is a relatively milder day than what we've been used to over the last couple of weeks, that is expected to be short lived.

Met Eireann is predicting another cold snap is on the way for many parts of the country.

The forecaster says the temperatures will start to take a dip on Thursday, after a very mild Wednesday.

They say Thursday will be a 'bitterly cold day' along with 'sunny spells and showers of rain, sleet and snow'.

Met Eireann adds that the likelihood of snow will increase in the evening with temperatures potentially dropping to -2 degrees.

That's not the end of the cold snap, however, as Friday night is expected to reach lows of -3 degrees, potentially as low to -4.
