Hernandez's request for bail in return for handing over his passport, remaining under house arrest and paying the $1 million bail fee was rejected.

Assistant US Attorney Michael Longyear said, “[Hernandez] is a member of a violent sect of the Bloods. This defendant participated in multiple acts of violence.”

He remains in federal custody alongside four other men.
