Teenage Boy Dies After Getting Into Difficulty While Swimming

A teenage boy has died after getting into difficulty while swimming at a popular North Dublin beach.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at Burrow Beach in Sutton at around 7:30pm yesterday evening.

The Irish Coast Guard was among those involved in the operation after a teenage boy got into difficulty while swimming.

He was pulled from the water and taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition was initially described as serious.

The teenager was then transferred to Temple Street Hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.
