The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Dublin for a short visit today.

This morning, he met with Leo Varadkar at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park, where the pair discussed topics like free trade, women in politics and Brexit.

It's the first official visitor Leo Varadkar has had since becoming Taoiseach and to mark the occasion, he wore Canadian-themed maple socks and showed Trudeau how to play hurling.

The Canadian PM is due to visit the EPIC Ireland emigration museum in the Docklands and after that, he'll travel to Áras an Uachtaráin to meet President Michael D Higgins.

Tonight, Justin Trudeau will be the guest of honour at an official dinner at Dublin Castle, before leaving early tomorrow morning for Scotland.
