Gardai in Tallaght are looking for a man in the area who they believe may be armed.
The manhunt got underway after a number of incidents in the Jobstown area this morning.
A number of units are involved in the search.
Gardai say they're trying to locate a black Renault Kadjar with reg 162 D 8767.
The driver of the car is described as a white male of medium build, wearing grey shorts, a green and black Northface jacket and grey and navy runners.
They're appealing for anyone who may have seen anything or anyone with information to get in touch with Tallaght Garda Station on 01-6666000 or call the emergency number 999 or 112.
