Stationless bikes could appear on the streets of Dublin as early as April.
Dublin City Council is to award two licenses to operate the app-based system, which allows cyclists to rent bikes without having to return them to a specific place.
It's estimated up to 600 could be made available in April, rising to 15-hundred after the initial roll-out.
Drumocondra, Phibsborough, Cabra, Crumlin, Ranelagh, Kimmage and Donnybrook are all set to benefit from the scheme.
